FRAN LAWTON GARDEN DESIGN

Donnington Garden

This long narrow garden runs the length of the old coach house, lending it self to naturally divide it up into different garden rooms.  There is a genourous paved terrace for entertaining and relaxing in the garden, which looks down the length of the garden across the top lawn and parterre.

The hard landscaping reflects the english garden feel with natural stone and brick edging.

With a keen gardener in residence there is lots of space for planting acentuating the existing mature shrubs which creates a sheltered and private view across the garden.  The raised herb planter next to the terrace allowing easy access for the kitchen. The small parterre leads that garden through the rose covered arch into the lower part of the garden via steps to a private patio and rill. Walking past the hedges reveials the lower lawn and two working gardens, the cutting garden and kitchen garden which are surrounded by wooden fences.
